GMT Shipping (HK) Ltd. was established on 10 March 2000 as a fully owned subsidiary of the GMT Shipping Group. The principal activity of the company is to provide management and financial services to GMT Group companies.
ACSL – Africa Coastal Shipping Line 
ACSL has established a fully integrated coastal service for South & West Africa. The service has successfully launched in September 2010. Currently, a newly built multi-purpose vessel of 7500 DWAT and a time chartered vessel of 9,578 DWAT has been delegated to provide a cyclical north/south rotation, with a further vessel to be employed either charter or purchase in 2011. We are servicing a range of 44 ports in 22 countries and cargo coverage will include containers, general & project cargo, oil & gas equipment and bulk commodities, as well as heavy lift up to 80 MTS. We also provide major carriers for through traffic with transshipment at Tema, Abidjan and other potential hubs.

Chartering
Antarctic Chartering is a member of the GMT Shipping Group, Hong Kong and was established in 2003 and has grown steadily in the past years.
Today the company has 3 offices with a strong broking team in Antwerp, Hong Kong and New Delhi. The activities cover Chartering & Shipbroking in dry bulk division. Supported by the Group's activities, we have developed excellent working relationships with Ship Owners/Charterers.
Each office works individually and monitors different market sectors and tonnage types using their own competence and expertise to best serve their principals.
GMT Nigeria Group Companies
GMT Shipping Nigeria Ltd was incorporated in Nigeria in April 1998 with her major focus to function in liner & tramping, shipping agency and customs clearance in Nigeria and other West African sub region. GMT Shipping Nigeria has been principal agents to Cosco Shipping, Conti GMT Shipping Ltd., GMT Shipping Line Ltd., and other carriers.
GMT Shipping Nigeria also maintains a well equipped with adequate qualified manpower Freight Forwarding and haulage Department. This is a form of shipping agency service we render to our major customers who imports chemicals, steel products and project cargos. On customs clearance, apart from handling of over 2,000 containers of chemicals and general cargo in a year, we equally clear more than 60% of steel cargo with about 500,000mts and delivers it to the doorsteps of the major consignee. The companies have invested substantially in the area of communication which greatly improves our relationship with various customers both on vessel and customs clearance. We also maintain cordial relationship with the port officials, management and staff of the Ministry of Transport and National Maritime authority, including all the port security agencies for smooth port operation.
Due to the business expansion and corporate restructure, GMT Shipping Services Ltd. and GMTISA (Nigeria) Ltd. and was established on 4 March 1999 and 20 July 2008 respectively taking up all the shipping agency business currently carried out by GMT Shipping Nigeria.
For doing our clearing and forwarding business, GMT Logistics Nigeria Ltd. was set up on 4 June 1999. Container & Transport Eng. Co. Ltd. was established on 20 May 2005 in order to centralise the asset management of the trucks, forklifts and other equipment. The companies have undertaken the following measures to improve and upkeep the quality of our services:
- Maintaining our own fleet of forklifts standby to supplement private terminal operator equipment.
- Maintaining a well-equipped maintenance & repairs workshop within the port for servicing our cargo handling equipments.
- Priority berthing arrangement which allows our vessels to berth immediately on arrival.
- Establishment of a Freight Forwarding Department with well-qualified staff and dependable trucking contractors that facilitate delivery of cargo to the doorsteps of consignees that require the service.
On 12 August 2005, ACS Africa Coastal Services (Nigeria) Ltd. was established for taking up the inland cargo depot operation. The company is established as our bonded inland containers and cargo terminal of 22,000SQM in Ikeja. The capacity of the terminal is 2500 teu with support of 2 Reachstackers, 1 Empty Container Handler, 8 forklifts and 110 units of trucks and trailers.
GMT Ghana Group Companies
We have total 2 companies incorporated in Ghana: GMT Shipping Ghana Ltd. and ACS Africa Coastal Services (Ghana) Ltd. (“ACS Ghana”).
GMT Shipping Ghana Ltd. is a fully owned subsidiary of the GMT Shipping Group, carrying out agency business in Ghana and acting as the principal agent to Cosco Shipping Line, Conti GMT Shipping Line and GMT Shipping Line.
ACS Ghana was established in Ghana in 2003 to complement the Ghana Ports and Harbours Authority’s (GPHA) plan to position the port as the main Gateway to Africa. The ACS Ghana terminal is strategically located along the harbour road close to the Tema Port in Ghana.
A 50,000 square meter multi-purpose terminal in Tema have been commissioned since January 2006 with outstanding performance. Our spacious container yard with storage capacity of estimate 5,000 TEUs loaded containers enables us to provide a comprehensive range of services including vanning/devanning, storage, containers repairs & maintenance and customs clearance of containers. Streamlined container movements guarantees customers highest quality services at the lowest costs.
The ACS Ghana terminal will function as a hub and will along with a dedicated common coastal feeder service in the African region. ACS Ghana will target containerized cargo, conventional cargo and project cargo.
ACS Ghana is a sign of our long-term commitment to our clients in the West African region. The objective of ACS Ghana is to improve the service to our clients by providing a one stop, safe and reliable door-to-door service under the ‘GMT umbrella’.

GMT Shipping Liberia Ltd is a fully owned subsidiary of the GMT Shipping Group established in Liberia as shipping agency on 15 Sept 2006.
GMT Shipping Liberia Ltd is a 100% foreign owned registered and licensed under the Liberian Maritime Law.

GMT Logistics Ltd is a fully owned subsidiary of the GMT Shipping Group established in Hong Kong in May 2002. The major focus of GMT Logistics is to extend the GMT Group services from conventional shipping and customs clearance to international forwarding with door to door delivery services.
In order to meet the demands of the ever growing mainland Chinese market, GMT Shipping Group has since 2007 become a registered NVOCC and has been actively providing professional. Currently, GMT Logistics Co. Ltd. with headquarter in Shanghai and supported by two branches in Tianjin and Beijing, provide realistic, efficient and reliable door to door logistics service from suppliers and manufacturers in China to West Africa, India and other regions.
